Abstract：Meme is a cultural unit, which can be spread through imitation. Language itself is a meme and spreads as its carrier. As a special language form, public signs are also language memes, and its translation can be regarded as a cross-cultural transmission activity. Firstly, an analysis was made of translation memetics, pragmatic and linguistic features of Chinese public signs were then introduced and finally some translating strategies for Chinese public signs were explored from the perspective of memetics.
