Abstract：In view of the effect mechanism of leadership behavior，the regulatory focus theory is introduced to the research field of leadership behavior, and theoretically a conceptual framework is proposed about the effect of leader's role model, linguistic frame and leader's feedback on employees job performance by guiding employees regulatory focus. Based on a sample of 312 construction workers and by using a self-administered questionnaire survey method, conceptual framework is examined by empirical research. The research shows that both promotion and prevention leadership behaviors have significant positive effects on job performance; promotion leadership behavior have a positive influence on the promotion regulatory focus, prevention leadership behavior have a positive influence on the prevention regulatory focus; both employee promotion and prevention regulatory focus have a positive effects on the job performance, and among which prevention focus is more powerful; there is a mediating effect between employees promotion / prevention regulatory focus onthe role of promotion/prevention leadership behavior and job performance that matches it.
